About me
Nathalie Gauthier
As a young grandmother in her fifties with 4 stepchildren and 2 grandchildren, I seized the opportunity offered by the pandemic to move to the Laurentians with my husband for my retirement.
With more free time at my disposal, I turned to the hobbies of my youth, in particular knitting, which I learned when I was a boarder in Joliette. And then, when I discovered crochet, the entrepreneurial fibre inherited from my father emerged.
A former procurement manager, it was this new passion that inspired me to create Mamou - Atelier de Crocheterie. I now spend up to 12 hours a day crocheting, and I must say that the days go by at breakneck speed!
My company
All my wools are locally made and hand-dyed in Quebec. I use merino wool 95% of the time, renowned for its exceptional softness, antimicrobial properties and moisture management. I love the way it glides under my fingers when I crochet!
My mission
Offering a handcrafted, Quebec-made product designed with creativity, passion and love: that's why I use noble materials like merino wool. I want to offer the best quality possible!
